Enjoy walking or running? Help raise much needed funds for charity.
This month is all about finding ways to exercise, and I thought we would take a look at running as a way to get active, fit and healthy, especially with our local fun run Peak2Park just around the corner on Sunday March the 6th.
Peak2Park always holds a special place in my heart, as I used to run it with my daughter Imogen each year and since her death in 2012 I have continued to run it and always remember the special times we shared.
It is a great event to get started with if you are enjoy walking or running as the fun run caters for all different conditioning levels - offering a 4k and a 10k. The event is extremely community focused and encourages community, families and friends to get together and have some morning fun in the outdoors, while getting fit at the same time. The other aspect I love about this event is it raises much needed funds for various charities.
Over the years I have met so many clients and people who always tell me that they would love to one day run a 5k, 10k, half or a half marathon one day. It seems to be one of those bucket list things to do but for some reason it always get put off. I always say there is no time like the present to get motivated and get started on those dreams.
Here are some reasons to take the plunge and have a crack at a 10k event such as Peak2Park – you might be surprised at what you can do!
Tips to achieve a 10k race
10k Program – this program is a little different as it doesn’t focus on distance but time.
