Some tips to keep you on track throughout the festive season.
Ok, I just looked at my calendar and realised we are one week away from December, and our summer is almost here, this is the time of year I love, we work hard all year round – head down and bum up but when the summer time comes we start to relax, indulge and live a little.
Summer represents so much for us all; it is a time for catch-ups with family and friends, some of whom we have not seen since last year, for Christmas and New Year gatherings. It is also a time for outdoor activity, picnics at the park, exploring nature, swimming at the beach, holidays – but most of all it is time out from our working life and living in the moment!
During this time of the year there is no need to fall off the wagon, for many of you, you have worked far too hard all year to make positive changes with your health and fitness and are finally feeling the benefits!
I’m not saying that you can’t continue to enjoy your summer and all the fun that it brings-but there are so many ways to incorporate your new healthy food choices and maintain your exercise routine.
Here are a few tips to keep you on track throughout our social month of December!
Here is a little body weight workout to help keep you in shape you can do at the gym, at home, a park, or even on holidays. I like to call this the FIVE MINUTE NO BUTS BUTT WORKOUT.
Perform twenty repetitions for each of these exercises:
Remember you can still have your fun but stay focused so that you can start of the New Year with a healthy and fit bang!
Make your dreams happen and start to live the life that you want to lead.
Over the last few weeks we have been focusing on the holidays and staying in shape for Christmas. This week I thought we could start to look towards the New Year which is only around the corner.
Next year I would like to make it the year of “Project You” – where we make our dreams happen and we start to live the life that we all want to lead.
While there may be many things you need to do or achieve to make a dream for your future a reality, the only thing that really matters is that you commit fully to making it a reality in your life. No other thought or action will ever be as important as this one.’ (Domonique Bertolucci – Love Your Life)
I love this quote from my favourite little inspiration book – I guess what is saying is that we need to make a commitment to be able to actualise our dreams and goals and make them a reality.
With a little thought and pre-preparation at this time of the year, we can be leaps and bounds ahead ready to achieving our new health, fitness and life goals for 2016. Making sure we have our action plan organised and ready for Jan 1st will put us in the perfect position for success.
When planning your goals for the year ahead – don’t just think about what you need to do in January, think of the entire year ahead.
Now get that diary or calendar out and write your health, fitness and life goals, and steps into it, just to make you accountable. Then put it away and enjoy your holidays and bring it back out on the 1st of January 2016 and make that commitment to you happen!
Change is around the corner in 2016
